On January 30, The Sensex closed 801.67 points lower, or 1.11%, at 71,139.90, while the Nifty ended down 215.50 points, or 0.99%, at 21,522.10.
US MARKETS
The S&P 500 closed at 4,924.97, down 0.06%, the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.76% to 15,509.90, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.35% to 38,467.31 points.
ASIAN MARKETS
In early Wednesday trading, Asian markets saw declines, with Nikkei down almost 1%, and both Taiwan Weighted and Kospi down 0.3%.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
On Tuesday, oil prices increased due to an elevated global economic growth outlook and rising tensions in the Middle East, counteracting worries about Chinese demand. March Brent crude futures, expiring on Wednesday, rose 47 cents to close at $82.87 per barrel, while the active April contract settled up 67 cents at $82.50. US West Texas Intermediate crude settled $1.04 higher, or 1.35%, at $77.82.
