On February 08, The Sensex ended 1% lower at 71,428.43, down by 723.57 points, while the Nifty closed 0.97% lower at 21,717.95, down by 212.55 points.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.13% to 38,726.33, the S&P 500 inched up 0.06% to 4,997.91, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.24% to 15,793.72.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets showed mixed trading, with Japan's Nikkei up 0.7%, while the Straits Times declined by 0.4%.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Oil prices surged over 3% on Thursday, with Brent futures rising $2.42 (3%) to $81.36 per barrel, and US West Texas Intermediate crude gaining $2.36 (3.2%) to reach $76.22. This marked the first time in February that Brent surpassed $80 a barrel, and WTI exceeded $75 a barrel.
