On March 22, equity benchmarks closed higher for the third consecutive session. The Sensex gained 190.75 points (0.26%) to reach 72,831.94, while the Nifty rose by 84.80 points (0.39%) to 22,096.80 at the closing bell.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 162.26 points (0.41%) to 39,313.64, while the S&P 500 decreased by 15.99 points (0.31%) to 5,218.19. Additionally, the Nasdaq Composite fell by 44.35 points (0.27%) to 16,384.47.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets showed upward momentum in trading, with the Kospi rising by 1.3% and the Taiwan Weighted Index up by 0.7%. However, the Nikkei remained relatively unchanged, trading flat.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Brent crude futures rose by $1.05, marking a 1.2% increase to reach $86.48 per barrel. Meanwhile, US crude futures climbed by $1.15, reflecting a 1.4% rise, to settle at $81.78 per barrel.
Both Brent and WTI benchmarks have shown steady growth this year, with Brent up nearly 11% and WTI approximately 12.5% as of the previous Friday's close.

1. FIIs net SOLD Rs 3,309.76 crore worth shares on 22 March.
2. DIIs net BOUGHT Rs 3,764.87 crore worth shares on 22 March.
