On February 12, The Indian market opened slightly higher but faced increased selling pressure, causing the Sensex and Nifty to close near the day's lowest levels. The Sensex, reaching a low of 70,922.57, ended 0.73% lower at 71,073, while the Nifty closed down 0.76% at 21,616, after slipping to 21,575. The Nifty Bank index also experienced significant selling, hitting a low of 44,633.85 and closing 1.65% lower at 44,882.25.
US MARKETS
On Monday afternoon, the Nasdaq declined, with the S&P 500 closing at 5,022.49 points, down 0.08%, and the Nasdaq Composite losing 0.27% to end at 15,947.92 points. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a 0.35% increase, gaining 135.76 points to close at 38,807.45.
ASIAN MARKETS
The Nikkei 225 in Japan surged 1.82% at its opening, surpassing the 37,000 mark and reaching 34-year highs, with the Topix also rising by 1.02%.
