On February 28, The Sensex closed 1.08% lower at 72,304.88, reaching a low of 72,222.29. The Nifty ended at 21,951.20, down 1.11% from the previous close, after slipping to 21,918.85 during the day.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.06% (23.39 points) to 38,949.02. The S&P 500 declined by 0.17% (8.42 points) to 5,069.76, while the Nasdaq Composite decreased by 0.55% (87.56 points) to 15,947.74.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets were down early on Thursday as investors awaited U.S. personal consumption expenditures price index data, seeking insights into the Federal Reserve's interest rate trajectory.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Brent crude futures concluded slightly higher, up 0.04 percent at $83.68 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures settled 0.42 percent lower at $78.54, down by 33 cents. Both benchmarks had earlier declined by $1. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a larger-than-expected increase in US crude inventories, rising by 4.2 million barrels compared to analysts' projections of 2.74 million barrels.
