On March 19, Indian equity indices, including Nifty and Sensex, dropped by 1%. The Sensex closed at 72,012.05, down 736.37 points (1.01%), while the Nifty closed at 21,817.50, down 238.20 points (1.08%), amid widespread selling across sectors.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 320.33 points, marking a gain of 0.83 percent, closing at 39,110.76. Similarly, the S&P 500 rose by 29.09 points (0.56 percent) to 5,178.51, while the Nasdaq Composite increased by 63.34 points (0.39 percent) to reach 16,166.79.
ASIAN MARKETS
In early Wednesday trading, Asia
markets saw gains as investors processed the Bank of Japan's significant shift
in monetary policy. They were also anticipating the U.S. Federal Reserve's
upcoming interest rate decision.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Early on Wednesday in Asian trading, oil prices experienced a slight decline. This was attributed to a stronger dollar, which dampened investor enthusiasm. Additionally, traders opted to take profits after recent rallies that had seen benchmarks reach multi-month highs over the past two sessions.
