On March 18, benchmark indices closed positively, with Nifty
reaching around 22,050, rebounding from previous losses. Sensex gained 104.99
points, closing at 72,748.42, while Nifty rose by 32.40 points, closing at
22,055.70, driven by buying across sectors except IT and FMCG.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 75.66 points, or 0.20%, closing at 38,790.43. The S&P 500 saw an increase of 32.33 points, or 0.63%, ending at 5,149.42, while the Nasdaq Composite surged by 130.27 points, or 0.82%, reaching 16,103.45.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets started Tuesday trading lower as investors awaited central bank monetary policy decisions from the Bank of Japan (BOJ) and the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA).
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
On Monday, oil prices surged approximately 1% to reach a four-month peak, driven by reduced crude exports from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, signs of increased demand and economic expansion in both China and the United States contributed to the uptick in prices.
FII/DII DATA:
1. FIIs net SOLD Rs 2,051.09 crore worth shares on 18 March.
2. DIIs net BOUGHT Rs 2,260.88 crore worth shares on 18 March.
