On March 2, the Nifty 50 achieved a historic high, crossing the 22,400-mark for the first time and closing at 22,378. Simultaneously, the Sensex concluded the day with a 61-point increase, reaching 73,806.
US MARKETS
On March 1, the S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite indices in the US climbed up to 1%, setting new record highs at 5,137 and 16,275, respectively. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also saw a 0.23% increase, closing at 39,087 on the same day.
ASIAN MARKETS
This morning, Japan's Nikkei 225 index reached a milestone by surpassing the 40,000-barrier, marking a nearly 1% increase and setting an all-time high. This surge followed the fresh highs set by the S&P 500 and the technology-heavy NASDAQ Composite indices on March 1. Additionally, the broader Topix index also achieved new heights, surpassing the 2,700-mark with a 0.4% increase.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
On March 4, in Asian trade, oil prices experienced a slight increase following the decision by OPEC+ to maintain current production cuts until the second quarter. Brent Crude saw a 0.4% rise, reaching approximately $84 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) Crude gained 0.3%, trading at around $80 per barrel.
