On February 29, The Sensex gained 195.42 points (0.27%) to reach 72,500.30, while the Nifty rose by 31.65 points (0.14%) to 21,982.80.
US MARKETS
On Thursday, the Nasdaq achieved a record high close, marking the first time in over two years.
The Nasdaq rose by 144.18 points, or 0.90 percent, reaching 16,091.92, surpassing its previous record of 16,057.44 set on November 19, 2021.
ASIAN MARKETS
Despite a general decline in most Asian stock markets on Thursday, China's CSI 300 bucked the trend, closing nearly 2 percent higher at 3,516.08, in anticipation of its purchasing managers' index reading for February.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Brent crude futures for April delivery, set to expire on Thursday, increased by 9 cents, reaching $83.77 per barrel by 11:55 a.m. EST (1655 GMT). The May contract, more actively traded, saw a gain of 58 cents, reaching $82.73. Additionally, the April US crude contract rose by 65 cents to $79.19 per barrel.
