On November 30, The BSE Sensex experienced an increase of 87 points, reaching 66,988, whereas the Nifty50 saw a rise of 37 points, reaching 20,133.

 

US MARKETS

The Dow soared by 520 points (1.47%) to a close of 35,950.89, surpassing its previous high for the year in August. The S&P 500 increased by 0.4% to reach 4,567.80. However, the Nasdaq Composite dipped about 0.2% to 14,226.22 as investors opted to cash in profits from leading Big Tech stocks that fuelled the November resurgence. November marked a turnaround for indices: the Dow broke its three-month losing streak with an 8.9% gain, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq surged by 8.9% and 10.7%, respectively.

 

ASIAN MARKETS

In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 slightly declined by 0.55% after three consecutive days of gains. South Korea's Kospi dropped by 0.89%, and the small cap Kosdaq fell by 0.79%. Japan's Nikkei 225 hovered just below the flatline, while the Topix defied the trend by opening 0.21% higher. Futures for Hong Kong's Hang Seng index indicated a positive opening at 17,052, contrasting with the HSI's previous close of 17,042.88.

 

OIL & GAS UPDATES:

On Thursday, U.S. crude initially rose but later dropped, with traders increasingly sceptical that OPEC+, comprising OPEC and its oil-producing allies, will fulfill pledged output reductions.

The West Texas Intermediate contract for January decreased by $1.20 (1.54%) to $76.66 per barrel, while the January Brent contract slipped by 14 cents (0.17%) to reach $82.96 per barrel.
