About these numbers
- Index levels, breadth, sector returns and movers come from the exchange feed: live while the market is open, the closing values afterwards. Lookback returns, scores, ranks and the market condition are computed once a day from the daily close.
- The market overview is the 43-indicator macro board: live series from the market feed, FRED and Yahoo Finance; release-based series (GDP, PMIs, CPI, flows, valuation prints) are entered after each official print and carry their own as-of date.
- The Market Mood Index averages five same-session readings, each scaled 0–100: India VIX (one-year percentile), the advance–decline ratio, the momentum component of the market condition, the share of stocks above their 50-day average, and new highs minus new lows. Below 25 extreme fear, 25–45 fear, 45–55 neutral, 55–75 greed, above 75 extreme greed.
- Support and resistance are classic floor pivots from the previous session: P = (H + L + C) / 3, R1 = 2P − L, S1 = 2P − H, R2 = P + (H − L), S2 = P − (H − L).
- The commentary is assembled from these readings by fixed rules; it contains no figure that is not also in the tables.
