On February 26, Indian equity indices closed negatively, with the Nifty below 22,150 due to widespread selling in various sectors, except for oil and gas, power, and capital goods. The Sensex ended down 352.67 points (0.48%) at 72,790.13, while the Nifty was down 90.70 points (0.41%) at 22,122.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 62.30 points (0.16%) to 39,069.23. The S&P 500 saw a loss of 19.27 points (0.38%) at 5,069.53, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 20.57 points (0.13%) to 15,976.25.
ASIAN MARKETS
In early Tuesday trading, Asian markets showed a mixed performance, with Japan's Nikkei index rising by 0.4 percent, while the Kospi index experienced a marginal decline.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Brent crude futures increased by 16 cents (0.2%) to reach $82.69 per barrel, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures (WTI) rose by 15 cents (0.2%) to $77.73 a barrel as of 0106 GMT. On the previous day, both benchmarks had closed more than 1% higher.
