On April 24, the BSE Sensex closed 0.2% higher, gaining 114 points to reach 73,853 from its peak of 74,121. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty finished 0.15% up at 22,402 from its highest point of 22,476, a rise of around 75 points.
US MARKETS
The S&P 500 rose by 1.08 points, or 0.02%, closing at 5,071.63, while the Nasdaq Composite increased by 16.11 points, or 0.10%, reaching 15,712.75. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 42.77 points, or 0.11%, to 38,460.92.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets paused their upward momentum following two consecutive days of gains, reflecting the trends seen on Wall Street. Investors awaited the release of US first-quarter gross domestic product figures scheduled for April 25.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
On Wednesday, oil prices saw a modest decline as concerns regarding Middle East tensions eased and economic activity in the largest oil consumer, the US, slowed. However, a decrease in US crude oil inventories limited the extent of these losses.
Brent crude futures dipped by 27 cents, or 0.31%, settling at $88.15 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped by 38 cents, or 0.46%, reaching $82.98.
