On April 12, The Sensex dropped by 793.25 points (1.06%) to 74,244.90, while the Nifty 50 fell by 234.40 points (1.03%) to 22,519.40.
US MARKETS
The S&P 500 declined by 1.5%, marking its worst week since October, the beginning of a significant Wall Street rally. The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a 1.2% drop of 475 points, while the Nasdaq composite fell 1.6% from its previous record. The S&P 500 closed at 5,123.41, the Dow Jones at 37,983.24, and the Nasdaq composite at 16,175.09.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets started the week on a downtrend as traders assessed the implications of Iran's drone attack on Israel during the weekend. Attention also turned towards upcoming economic data releases from China and Japan later in the week.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
Oil prices declined at the opening of Asia's trading session on Monday, as market participants reduced risk premiums in response to Iran's attack on Israel over the weekend, which the Israeli government reported as causing limited damage. Brent futures for June delivery dropped by 24 cents to $90.21 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures for May delivery decreased by 38 cents to $85.28 a barrel.
