On April 8, Indian benchmark indices closed strongly with the Nifty surpassing 22,650. The Sensex concluded up by 494.28 points or 0.67 percent at 74,742.50, while the Nifty rose by 152.60 points or 0.68 percent to reach 22,666.30.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 11.24 points, or 0.03%, closing at 38,892.80. The S&P 500 experienced a slight decrease of 1.95 points, or 0.04%, ending at 5,202.39, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 5.44 points, or 0.03%, to reach 16,253.96.
ASIAN MARKETS
Despite US Treasury yields exerting pressure on Wall Street equities on Monday, Asia markets traded higher on Tuesday. Investors in the region will focus on business confidence surveys from Australia and consumer confidence data from Japan.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
On Monday, the global oil benchmark Brent stabilized above $91 a barrel, recovering from early losses triggered by Israel withdrawing more soldiers from Gaza and expressing willingness to engage in fresh talks on a potential ceasefire in the Middle East conflict.
